Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Eidetic decks.

Getting Started

Anki is a free, open-source flashcard application that uses spaced repetition — a scientifically proven method for long-term memory. It's available on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android (AnkiDroid, free), and iOS (AnkiMobile, paid). Our decks are .apkg files designed to work with Anki on all platforms.
Download the .apkg file, open Anki, and go to File → Import. Select the file and it will load automatically. We recommend starting with 10 new cards per day — this keeps your daily reviews manageable and prevents burnout.
No. Every deck comes with a Quick Start guide that walks you through installation, import, and recommended settings. If you've never used Anki before, you'll be up and running in under 10 minutes.
Anki runs on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android (AnkiDroid — free), and iOS (AnkiMobile — paid separately by Anki's developer). You can sync across devices using a free AnkiWeb account.

Product & Quality

Free decks are almost always raw word dumps — no audio, no example sentences, no structure. Our decks have audio on every card, real example sentences, thematic organization, and dialect-specific content. We build each card with context: an example sentence, a pronunciation guide, and tags for theme and difficulty level.
Thematically — by real-life situations like ordering food, visiting a doctor, meeting someone new, or navigating an airport. Within each theme, words are ordered by frequency so you learn the most useful ones first. We also provide tags for part of speech, CEFR level, and frequency band.
Every card includes: the target word or phrase, an audio pronunciation, an example sentence (with translation), and a transliteration where applicable. Language-specific cards may include additional fields like gender markers, verb conjugation notes, or cultural context.
We use high-quality text-to-speech technology that produces clear, natural pronunciation. For dialect-specific decks (like Saudi Arabic or Mexican Spanish), we use voices that match the target dialect — not generic textbook pronunciation.

Pricing & Payment

Yes. Every deck has a free sample of 100–150 cards available on AnkiWeb. No account or payment required. Download it, review for a week, and decide.
We don't offer refunds on digital products — once downloaded, there's no way to "return" a file. That's exactly why we provide generous free samples, so you can judge the quality before spending anything.
Yes. Related decks can be purchased as bundles at a discount. For example, Saudi Arabic + Medical Arabic is $44.99 (vs $54.98 separately). Bundle options are shown on the product page.
Yes. We offer purchasing power parity (PPP) pricing for developing countries. If you're in a country where our standard pricing is out of reach, you'll see adjusted prices automatically.

Updates & Support

Yes. All buyers receive free lifetime updates. When we improve a deck — new cards, better audio, fixed errors — you get the updated version at no extra cost. We'll notify you by email when updates are available.
Email us at hello@eidetic.cards with the deck name, card in question, and what you think is wrong. We take errors seriously and fix them in the next update.
Absolutely. Email us your suggestion. We prioritize languages and topics based on demand, so the more people ask for something, the sooner we build it.

Technical

All decks are .apkg files — the standard Anki package format. This is a self-contained file that includes all cards, media (audio), and deck settings.
Yes. Once imported into Anki, you have full control. Add notes, modify cards, suspend ones you don't need, or reorganize however you like. The deck is yours.
No. Anki handles imports intelligently — it adds new cards and updates existing ones without duplicating or deleting anything. Your review history and scheduling are preserved.
